We will offer a variety of programs and services to support mental health and recovery from domestic violence, including resources such as counseling, support groups, corporate apprenticeships, and educational workshops.

Programs

1. Primary Focus
Initially designed to serve women over 50 who have experienced domestic violence or mental health crises, Fresh Beginnings, Inc. has also evolved to support men, veterans, and members of the LGBTQ community facing similar struggles.

2. Core Services

  • Affordable Housing Development:
Goal to raise $30 million to create safe, affordable housing facilities operated by Fresh Beginnings, Inc. These spaces will serve as refuges for individuals escaping abusive or dangerous situations.
  • Financial and Legal Assistance:
Rental and utility support, help with attorney fees, and connections to job-skills training.
  • Vetting and Referrals:
Applicants aged 50 and over are vetted to ensure they are seeking a hand-up, not a hand-out. Those not within the target demographic are referred to the appropriate organizations.
  • Collaboration with Other Nonprofits:
Fresh Beginnings also supports and partners with organizations serving different populations with similar missions.

3. Unique Approach

  • Offers safe respite for self-discovery, emotional recovery, and practical rebuilding.
  • Focuses on trauma-informed care and preventing return to abusive environments driven by trauma bonds.
  • Encourages open, non-judgmental conversation and community rebuilding.
